Current employment opportunities include:

Festival Players of Prince Edward County is looking for a Costume Assistant for the 2017 summer season.
Working in concert with the costume designer, the costume assistant will be on the scenes for the rehearsal, load-in and run of the three plays of The Festival Players 2017 season. The designer and assistant will work together and individually through all stages of pre-production: shopping, pulling and creating costume pieces from a variety of sources; fitting the actors, altering, dyeing and/or breaking down the costumes and other tasks as required. From dress rehearsal onwards, the assistant would be responsible for the laundry and maintenance of the costumes, culminating in the season strike. As this role requires travel around the County and environs, a driver’s license and own vehicle is a necessity. Theatre experience not necessarily required.
– Attention to detail pertaining to fabric, design, colour, silhouette, etc
– Sewing skills, ideally both hand and machine, and familiarity with alterations would be ideal
– Flexibility, adaptability, organization and sense of humour during peak stress times
– Familiarity with fabric care and cleaning
– Fast and eager learner a must!
