Festival Players @ Home is a series of unique fund raising events in support of the 2014 Festival Players summer season. Be our guest as we explore some of the County’s finest homes; enjoy local wine, food, great company and a live performance curated by Artistic Director, Sarah Phillips. Thank you to our hosts for their generous County hospitality: Kimberley Wilkes, Greg and Kate Sorbara, and Phil and Debra St. Jean.
Each event will run from 5-7pm. Admission is by a minimum donation of $100 per person, and a tax receipt will be issued for the maximum amount allowable.
Saturday July 5 – St Jean Residence
Lighthall Road – BOOK NOW
Visit the St. Jean residence on Lighthall Road – a grand old limestone farmhouse that has been spectacularly renovated, combining old and new elements in creative ways. Our July 5th event will feature wines by Huff Estates and Rosehall Run, beer from Barley Days Brewery and a signature cocktail created by Laura Borutski of The Hubb, mixed with 66 Gilead spirits. Food will include gourmet wood-fired pizza home made in the St. Jean’s pizza oven! Performance by George Meanwell, the incredibly talented multi-instrumentalist who composed and performed the incidental music in Festival Players 2013 production of The Notorious Right Robert and his Robber Bride.
Visit the Wilkes residence on the Bay of Quinte – a stunning modern house with wide open spaces, acres of glass, strong deliberate lines and sprawling outdoor spaces.
Our May 3rd event will feature creations by Chef Sebastien Schwab and wines by Huff Estates and Rosehall Run. Entertainment is original songs sung silly by Second City Alumni and award-winning husband and wife comedy team Parsons & Morel. Festival Players’ fans will recognize Jenny Parsons and her impeccable comedic timing from our 2012 production of Harvest.
Visit the Sorbara residence on Northport Road – a magnificent restored century barn with soaring 40-foot ceilings and all the warmth and charm of the County’s farming roots. Our June 7th event will feature wines by Huff Estates and Rosehall Run, as well as beer from Barley Days Brewery. Performance by cabaret performers Nathalie Nadon and Melanie Brulee – performing a passionate, exuberant blend of jazz standards and French cabaret songs.
