Rocket and the Queen of Dreams

Award-Winning Children’s Theatre Company comes to the County

chair onstageFestival Players is thrilled to bring a stunning piece of theatre to children in the Hastings and Prince Edward County District School Board. Roseneath Theatre is a multi-award winning company that has been producing and touring shows for school-aged children for close to 25 years. (Danny, King of the Basement, a well-known show of theirs, is now part of the Ontario school curriculum.)Their latest production, Rocket and the Queen of Dreams, runs at CML Snider School in Wellington May 19 – May 22, 2009.

The show is a beautiful combination of puppetry, shadow puppetry and live performers. It’s about a little boy who is afraid of the dark and his dreams, and was written based on interviews the company conducted with young children while on tour in Ontario schools.

Rocket and the Queen of Dreams plays at CML Snider School at the following times:
Tuesday, May 19 at 12:45pm
Wed, May 20 – Friday, May 22 at 10am and 12:45pm

Local schools have the opportunity to bring their JK – grade 4 students to see this show and take part in the after-performance talk-balk session with the performers.

Open to members of the public as well. Tickets are $3. Please contact our box office to reserve seats (payment taken at the door, cash only).  Recommended for children JK – grade 4.

Festival Players wishes to thanks CML Snider and principal Sandra Closson for helping us bring this show to the County.
