An Update Regarding COVID-19

Dear Friends and Patrons of the Festival Players,

We hope this finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy during this difficult time.

For the past year we have been busy planning an exciting 2020 summer season and were very much looking forward to gathering as a community once again to experience an exciting line up of theatrical and musical offerings.

In light of the global Covid-19 pandemic, we have been working on various scenarios over the past several weeks in an attempt to keep our 2020 season intact. However, given the timing of our summer programming in Prince Edward County, and the evolving nature of the pandemic, we have been forced to make some difficult decisions.

For the health and well-being of our artists, staff, volunteers, and most importantly our audiences, Festival Players has decided to suspend our full slate of planned programming for the 2020 season, including all scheduled programming for Wellington Water Week.

This decision did not come to us lightly and we want to assure all of our patrons that we are still very hopeful that we will be able to mount a smaller season this year. We recognize the vital importance of Art and community in these trying times and are working hard on programming a series of smaller events towards the end of the summer if and when circumstances permit. We will keep you informed on potential programming in the coming months, as we know more. But rest assured, we will be present, in a virtual or live capacity, as soon as we are able.

We continue to follow guidance from Hastings and Prince Edward County Health, Public Health Ontario and Health Canada regarding COVID-19. For now, our primary concern is the health, safety and well-being of our community. Stay tuned for more updates as we work through this together.

In the meantime, the arts sector has been hit exponentially by this pandemic. Most of our industry is self-employed and without a safety net.
Please consider a donation to The AFC, through compassionate and confidential support, they help artists in crisis.

And of course, as always, we appreciate your loyalty and continued support of The Festival Players of Prince Edward County.

Thank you and be well,
